Annie's 2nd grade class visited IVUKA Arts Studio this May. Ivuka is the brainchild of Emmanuel Nkuranga. Emmanuel let the kids paint to their heart's content. He organized all the kids, supplied them with canvas, brushes and paint and offered advice to the aspiring artists. Emmanuel also gives lessons to kids at an orphanage in Gikondo (neighborhood of Kigali) and is recognized for his efforts in this month's issue of the Kigali Journal. There are some really interesting pieces in his showroom. So, when in Kigali, don't hesitate to visit him behind the Umubano Hotel (formerly the Laico).
