Alarm Clock?

Yet another window tapper. In addition to the wagtail, this little guy has been showing up at an ungodly hour to tap on our windows. They have really rendered our alarm clocks immaterial.

  1. I believe this guy/gal is a Yellow-fronted Canary. They have the yellow bellow, and some yellow mixed in their wing and back, like your photo shows. They also hae th black eyestripe, the yellow above the eyes (called a "supercilium") and the drak 'whisker' stripe called a 'malar stripe'. The book also says he is supposed to have a white tip on his tail feathers. Can't tell that from the photo. But, that's my guess. These were only in the Caprivi in Namibia--more of a eastern/northern in habitant of southern Africa. So, what is Rwanda considered: Eastern Africa? They aren't SADC are they? My bird book is southern Africa, but it's worked so far for your little friends.
